Today Phil is in Iowa for his Grandma Metzger's funeral. The rest of us were unable to make the trip back, but we are most thankful for our last visit with her just a few weeks ago.
Phil asked Madeline if we could get a picture with her. She was excited and told each kid just where they should stand.
The weekend after our trip to Iowa we headed to Half Moon Bay. Unfortunately, the weather was not ideal so we headed North to San Francisco. I had purchased tickets for the Wax Museum on Groupon, so we used the opportunity to fulfill Cora's California bucket list.
The next Friday, the kids and I made a trip to the Oakland Zoo.
Last week the kids and I made a visit to Quarryhill Botanical Gardens.
It was a beautiful day and the azaleas were perfect.
The boys enjoyed the opportunity to wander about the grounds.
Cora's been working on a new talent.
Last weekend we made a trip to Bodega Bay.
Despite the wind, the view is always worth the trip.
Here we were able to view baby seals from the road near Jenner.
We've had a visitor with us this last month.
Flat Nora enjoyed the views as well.
Yesterday, the kids and I made a trip to San Francisco to enjoy Golden Gate Park.
What a beautiful place!
One could easily spend a few days enjoying everything the park has to offer.
Here's a branch of a plant in the succulent garden. We decided to call it the airplane plant.
The nice thing about going into the city is you never need to worry about eating. When you find yourself without a lunch, you only need look a bit before you find food stands or food trucks.
This is where we sat and enjoyed our hot dog and Indian wrap lunch.
Here Gavin has a tissue on his nose. For some reason our whole family has had bloody noses recently.
After our lunch break, we toured the Japanese Tea Garden.
Asian gardens have always been a favorite of mine.
As we walked to the car, the kids spotted an ice cream truck.
Even though it was organic, we all enjoyed a cone. :)
Thanks for checking in on us,
Jessica
